Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair left Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons because of an injury to his right calf.
He didn't return, and after the game, Titans coach Jeff Fisher said McNair was doubtful for next week's game against the New York Jets.
McNair was hurt after throwing a 5-yard pass to Frank Wycheck. After McNair released the ball, defensive end Patrick Kerney simply touched him, and McNair took a tentative step and immediately reached for his calf.
He dropped to the turf but walked off without any assistance.
Billy Volek replaced McNair and led the Titans to a 38-31 victory.
• Titans cornerback Samari Rolle left the game because of a concussion but was able to return.
• Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse was not in uniform for Sunday's game because of a sprained left ankle.
Oakland
Raiders wide receiver Jerry Rice became the first player with 1,500 career receptions -- and did it in spectacular fashion against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 19-year veteran came into the game needing two catches to reach the milestone, but was held without a reception until he caught a 4-yard pass from Rick Mirer with just over seven minutes left in the third quarter.
Then, on the second play of the fourth quarter, Rice slanted inside cornerback Eric Warfield at Kansas City's 25, caught Mirer's pass in stride and sprinted untouched to the end zone for a 47-yard touchdown. It was his 193rd career TD catch, extending his NFL record.
• Raiders safety Derrick Gibson was carried off the field on a stretcher in the second quarter of Sunday's game against Kansas City. The Raiders later said he had movement in his extremities, and X-rays and a CT scan both were normal.
Indianapolis
Colts placekicker Mike Vanderjagt kicked a 24-yard field goal in Sunday's victory over the Bills and hasn't missed in 30 attempts, tying Jeff Wilkins for the third-longest streak in NFL history. It's one short of matching former Viking Fuad Reveiz and 10 behind record-holder Gary Anderson, who hit 40 in a row for the Vikings in 1997-98.
Etc.
• Cleveland Browns center Jeff Faine sprained his right ankle in the first quarter of Sunday's game against Pittsburgh and didn't return.
• Steelers center Jeff Hartings injured his right knee Sunday. Coach Bill Cowher said he expects Hartings to be out a few weeks.
• Baltimore Ravens defensive end Anthony Weaver aggravated a shoulder injury Sunday against Seattle and did not return.
